Team Alan
Grau
President and CEO
Alan Grau has more than 15 year's experience
in the telecommunications and embedded software marketplace.
On December 29, 1992 Alan co-founded Icon Labs, an embedded
systems software development company whose clients include Motorola,
Lucent Technologies, Intel and Tellabs. Alan leads and supports
Icon Labs' vision with focus, commitment and passion by providing
network management solutions to the embedded networking market.
Prior
to serving as President and CEO, Alan was Icon Lab's Vice
President and General Manager of business and product developement.
Alan led the development of the company's first product while
establishing strategic partnerships with Wind River, Elmic
Systems and NextHop Technologies. Before co-founding Icon
Labs, Alan held key technical and management positions with
Motorola and AT&T Bell Laboratories. Alan also served
as President and CEO of Digital Storage Technologies, Inc.,
a startup company providing a leading edge remote data backup
technology.
Alan holds a BA in Mathematics and Computer
Science from Central College and an MS in Computer Science
from Northwestern University.

Steve Johnson
Vice President of Business Development
Steve Johnson is responsible for sales and marketing expanding
Icon Labs’ presence into target markets worldwide. Steve
brings over 20 years experience in the embedded computing
industry serving in various sales, marketing and executive
positions in private and public technology companies. Steve
has managed product marketing, distribution and direct sales
while holding director and executive vice president positions
at Microware Systems Corporation and at SNAP2 Corporation.
He was at Microware for 12 years in various management positions
including EVP/GM of the New Media business unit that lead
the early interactive television market in the mid-90’s.
At SNAP2 Corporation, he lead the team that became the market
leader of embedded in-flight entertainment software for the
Rockwell TES systems. Steve served on the board of directors
of Microware and SNAP2 when they went public.
Steve began his career in embedded computer technologies serving
as a Product Marketing Manager at Mizar Incorporated, a VMEbus
board level hardware provider. The company grew from 14 to
120 employees from 1985 to 1987. He holds a BS in Electrical
Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
